I talked with our vet and our usual vet tech and asked them to let me know if they thought it was time. In the couple weeks we tried to keep her going, I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to say goodbye. We tried syringe feeding her and even went to a specialty vet. After a month or so the skin infection was clearing up, but she stopped eating, got really congested, and went downhill. It started with a skin infection that we, and the vet, both thought was no big deal. I'm not an expert, but I just had to say goodbye to one of my cats after 12 years. You may not know it from the coveralls, but I have a unique sense of style and love to design and restore historic properties with Ben in our spare time. ![]() Whether I was riding horses or saving injured wildlife, I knew at a young age that I wanted to be a veterinarian. Erin here - I’m a Nebraska transplant from a small New York town called Westport, I’ve always been a Midwest girl at heart. I grew up around my dad’s veterinary practice and quickly earned the nickname, “The Cattle Whisperer.” When I’m not busy taking our sons Charlie and Chase on a farm call to teach them the family trade, I enjoy watching them play basketball.ĭr. Ben here - I’m a homegrown Nebraskan and have been saving animals since before I could walk. Whether it’s celebrating the birth of a proudly prancing calf, or holding the hand of a neighbor who needs to lay their loyal farm dog to rest, we feel blessed to be there for every creature in the countryside.ĭr. We met each other while in school at Kansas State University, and met not only our future business partner, but partners in life too! Now when Winter blizzards, Spring flooding or Summer heatwaves wreak havoc on the farms of Nebraska, we’re there to tend to whatever mother nature throws at the herd. We’ve practiced veterinary medicine together for over 15 years in America’s heartland, Hartington, Nebraska.
